Music Heritage Trail School Learning Pack

Explore the Croydon Music Heritage Trail with your class through flexible warm-up activities, lesson plans, and drop-down day options.

This pack has been produced for schools by the Museum of Croydon Team to support bringing the Croydon Music Heritage Trail into the classroom. It is a flexible resource to use with pupils primarily at Key Stage Two. Teachers can simplify activities to be suitable for Key Stage One.

 

King Charles III Coronation

Celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King with this learning pack full of fun historical facts and family activities you can do from home!

The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May, Learn about the kings visits to Croydon and try out some fun environmental experiments that you can do from home in preparation for this historical day.

 

Jubilee Celebrations

Celebrate Her Majesty’s historic reign with this learning pack of family activities, historic objects & fun facts!

The Queen will become the first British Monach to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, after 70 years of service. Beating even Queen Victoria (her great-great-grandma!) who reigned for almost 64 years. Learn about the times the Queen has visited Croydon, explore objects from the collection and have fun making crowns, bunting and answering a royal quiz!

Wild World Heroes

We have been inspired by the Summer Reading Challenge 2021 which teamed up with WWF for a special nature-themed challenge that will encourage you to stand up for the planet! You can join the reading challenge at your local Croydon Library! Explore here in our Learning Pack the history of Croydon’s ponds and take part in activities from colouring in our art collection, nature themed wordsearchs to making art with petals!

Black History in Croydon

In October every year the UK marks Black History month which is a celebration of the history, achievements and contributions of Black people in the UK. It was first launched in London in the 1980s, to inspire the local community to challenge racism and educate themselves and others about the British history that was not being taught in schools.
