Sir Malcolm Sargent
Sir Harold Malcolm Watts Sargent
better known as Malcolm Sargent,
was a composer, organist
and an eminent conductor.

Sir Malcolm, also called
‘The Ambassador with the baton’
was associated with many orchestras
during his career
and toured the world
promoting British music.
Sir Malcolm became famous for
his gramophone recordings,
radio and television broadcasts
as well as for conducting the ‘Proms’.
Malcolm was born on 29 April 1895
and died on 3 October 1967
at the age of 72 years.
