"Croydon ran, in different guises,
lots of things during the Pride season,
which was mostly then in June,
a series of events at different venues.
To raise funds for those charities
or groups in Croydon,
either on HIV prevention, safe sex,
working with young gay people,
working with improving networking
and socialisation for men and women
who might find themselves
quite alone in the borough.
1993 is probably the most
exciting year for Croydon Pride,
we came and met the Mayor.
We had tea with the Mayor and
we laid a wreath at the War Memorial
outside the Town Hall.
Tea with the Mayor was really to be
a little bit loud and to increase
The War Memorial wreath was
really to try to remember
the Lesbian and Gay men
who fell in the War and
who often get forgotten."
