The Croydon Art Society is staging a special exhibition of traditional and contemporary art by its members. The paintings cover varied subject matter in all media including watercolours, oils, pastels, acrylic, drawings and etchings.
The Society, believed to be the oldest in England outside of London, was founded in 1881 and currently has over 100 members. Past luminaries have included Cicely Mary Barker, Jack Merriott, Juliet Pannett and Hesketh Hubbard.
The exhibition runs for two weeks and admission is free.'The Gondoliers', watercolour by Archie Niven, SGFA, President of The Croydon Art Society.
