Our galleries and events are free unless otherwise stated.

For drop in events, places will be allocated on the day on a 'first come, first served basis'.
For family workshops all children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and all adults must be accompanied by a child.

Events Programme: Winter - Spring 2017



Resolve to get creative and spring into 2017 at our free, family workshops!


All our family workshops take place from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and are free, drop-in, family events. Each activity is suitable for 5 - 11 year olds, although other ages can enjoy them too. They can take as little as 20 minutes to complete if you're in a hurry, but feel free to take as long as you wish and explore our galleries too. As well as our three, free galleries, Croydon Clocktower also has a great cafe and Library, including Children's Library, if you want to make a day of it. We hope you enjoy our activity programme and look forward to seeing you at Croydon Clocktower soon.



Saturday 21 January - Typography event at the Activities Space
Join us to create your very own typographic letter inspired by 'The Petherick family album' exhibition.

Saturday 28 January - Chinese New Year roosters at the Activities Space
Create your own fabulous rooster to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Wednesday 15 February - Design a postcard at the Museum of Croydon.
Be inspired by soldiers writing home in the First World War.

Thursday 16 February - Op Art spinning shapes at the Museum of Croydon
Create your own Op Art spinning shape, inspired by Bridget Riley's work and the Op Art interactive in the gallery.

Saturday 18 February - Create a Roman helmet at the Activities Space
Design your own Roman helmet to take home and wear.

Saturday 4 March - Mask event at the Museum of Croydon
Be inspired by the 'Blasts from the past' exhibition to create your own mask.

Saturday 18 March - Skeleton activity at the Activities Space
Create your own skeleton figure inspired by our new 'Bones of Croydon' exhibition.

Saturday 1 April - Design a teacup at the Activities Space
Take a look at our 'Famille Noire' tea sets in the Riesco Gallery and create your own design.

Wednesday 5 April - 'Jakson’s Lavender' activity at the Museum of Croydon
Learn more about this wonderful object in the Museum of Croydon.

Thursday 6 April - Making mobiles at the Museum of Croydon
Make your very own mobile, will you include your favourite object?

Wednesday 12 April - Let’s go fishing at the Activities Space
Fish for a fish! Inspired by objects in the Riesco gallery.

Thursday 13 April - Taffy Horse at the Activities Space.
Make your own model of a horse based on the Riesco family’s famous pony.

Saturday 15 April W.F Stanley’s glasses activity at the Museum of Croydon
Can you find the pantograph he invented in the Museum? Create your own glasses modelled on Stanley’s very own.
