The Museum of Croydon is part of Croydon Council's Place department. We are responsible for delivering a number of services through our galleries at Croydon Clocktower:
Tells the story of Croydon from 1800 to the present day, through objects and stories of local people.
Home to the 200 items from the Riesco Collection of Chinese ceramics and Croydon's Roman and Anglo-Saxon collections.
Changing displays of works from the Borough Art Collection.
The place to go to find out more about our collections and discover the history of your family, house or local community.
We also run a fun and interactive programme of events, activities & special projects to encourage local people to enjoy and learn from our collections.
As part of our learning service we offer Object Handling Sessions for schools and community groups. Our Handling Collection contains over 300 objects that are meant to be touched. The objects are used with school and community groups to help people find out about the past firsthand. Sessions take place in our Activities Space at Croydon Clocktower or, for an extra charge, we can visit you.
Our team are also engaged in many community outreach projects seeking to forge partnerships and make links between our work and peoples' everyday lives.
