The nuns and teachers at Old Palace School, Croydon, sold these cards to pupils in the 1930s. The money was used to help fund missionary work, spreading the gospel in Africa and providing corrugated iron roofs for the mission huts. Yvonne Smith bought these for about twopence each from her pocket money.
