Jamie went to John Ruskin School
and Croydon Art College:
"I went to John Ruskin.
and I hated nearly every minute of it,
apart from my mates and the sport.
It was a totally pretentious school.
If I was 16 now,
I wouldn't have a hope in hell.
I was able to go to Croydon Art School. "
"It was a vocational course -
I was able to go there at 16
without any O levels
and receive a grant.
The same applied
to my contemporaries then,
which were people like Malcolm Maclaren
who I went on to work with later
with the Sex Pistols,
Shaun Scully who was nominated
for the Turner prize last year."
"There was a mood afoot.
There was a lot of feeling
of being spontaneous
and spur of the moment.
It all culminated in youth rebellion
against all sorts of things."
