Enid Sturgeon of Streatham bought this cookbook for five shillings in 1950. It was based on a comic strip in the 'Daily Mirror' about a young wife, Patsy, who couldn't cook. At the time many foods were still rationed. Many of the recipes feature ingredients such as dried eggs and whale meat.
