A wall hanging made by members of the African Caribbean Elders Club for the Croydon Heritage Celebrations in 1993. The hanging features a map of Croydon surrounded by places and products representing the multi-cultural residents of the Borough. The ACE club was founded in April 1984. Its aims are to enable the elders to lead full, healthy and active lives; to maintain their independence and dignity in old age and to retain their culture for as long as possible. The club is run by the Guyanese Organisation for Cultural Advancement (GOCA), a voluntary charitable organisation that aims to meet the needs of African Caribbean residents in Croydon.
