Title

Malcolm's Skyscraper Drawing
Around 1967
Description

A drawing done in charcoal by Malcolm McLaren, when he was a student at Croydon School of Art around 1967, and new high rise office blocks were transforming the centre of Croydon. At that time the School of Art accepted students without formal qualifications, offering them vocational courses. Also on the course were Sean Scully, who recently won the Turner Prize, and Jamie Reid. When Malcolm McLaren later managed the punk group The Sex Pistols, Jamie Reid became their graphic designer.
