moving to New Addington.
"I was married with two children
and I was living at Waddon
with my mother and father.
On my 21st birthday,
I got the key to 384 King Henry's Drive,
When we first came up here
to view the house,
there were no roads,
it was just mud, literally mud,
from the Parade onwards.
The houses were spanking brand new,
they were really lovely;
three bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen
and all a really nice size.
I was absolutely thrilled.
It was so countrified up there,
We used to take the children
out for long walks
to Biggin Hill or the White Bear Pub
or to the big field at Fieldway
for picnics during glorious summer days.
It was bitterly cold in the winter,
but it was a beautiful place to live."
